About Balagio History

Michael Galderio Sr. Balagio Restaurant

Michael A. Galderio Sr. Started his work in the restaurant business as a bartender at Alf’s Pub in Dolton.

Became a partner at the Tender Trap in Chicago Heights and then Ciao Ristorante in Matteson.

In 1996 Mike opened Balagio Restaurant on Ridge Road and Martin Street in Homewood until moving the business to its current location at 175th Street and Dixie Highway. In 2017 he expanded the restaurant into Mokena location on 191st Street and Everett Lane.

Love this place. The server was phenomenal. I asked them to make a fettuccine carbonate w Alfredo sauce. It’s was a favorite from my younger years. It was delicious here too. Yum! I’m always very happy when I come here for a nice elegant dinner
